Another AP Art piece for my portfolio! My friend is studying violin in college, and when she plays violin she lights up---I wanted to capture the energy and beauty she radiates when she plays her violin. She also has Italian heritage that she really connects with that I reflect in this painting. One little detail I really like are the big gold hoop earrings she is wearing---my friend almost always wears earrings just like that; it's a signature characteristic of hers :) Also, here's a little extra. You can tell by the hoop earring if nothing else that this is the same girl. This is a gift to my friend and her boyfriend because both of thir birthdays are within two week of each other in January.
